Can I be evicted for complaining about noise from my neighbors?
I lease an apartment in South Carolina. I received an eviction notice to vacate within 30 days. The reason given on the eviction notice is I have complained about noise from the tenants living below me. That is the only reason listed. I called the main office in charge of the Apartment Complex and was told that the reason I was being evicted was because of the number of times I called and complained. Is this a valid reason to evict someone. In my opinion I am the victim here because of the noise from late night partying from the college students living below me.
Can I change my lease term to one month without formal approval?
I have been a tenant of this building for 3 years and always signed a 1 year lease. My lease is up this month. I know I will be moving out of the country in 2 months and asked my mgmt company what to do? They told me to cross out term 12 months and write in 1 month, sign the lease and send it back. That does not seem right. Shouldn't I have something that says they approve a one month extention or something?
Can a landlord issue a notice to change alterations and then an eviction notice?
Can a landlord give you a notice stating you have 30 days to change alterations (that the tenant has made) or they will be forced to fill for eviction-then turn around and 4 days later send you an eviction notice saying you have 30 to vacate the premise?
