How can I stop my son's father from contacting us?
The father of my 8 year old son finally started coming around about a year and a half ago. He has been in and out of jail for the past eight years for drinking and battery charges. All of the sudden he wants to see his son all the time. He has never been around before, and owes about $16,000.00 in back child support. What do I need to do to get him to just leave us alone? He doesn't have a drivers licencse or a place to live. He keeps threatening me with court, and he'll take my son. He is bad news, and my son does not want to be around him.
How can my boyfriend be included on the birth certificate if he's overseas?
My boyfriend is being shipped overseas while the baby is being born. How do we get him on the birth certificate?
What recourse is available if DNA proves I'm not the biological father in Rhode Island?

Does the biological father have rights to a child if the mother is married?
I just found out that my wife had an affair and that she is pregnant. I have had a vasectomy but no testing has been done for paternity. My wife and I are all but certain that this child is not mine. She has broken off the relationship and is back with me, but the possible biological father thinks that he should have some rights to the child. All I want is to raise this child as my own and for my other three kids not to have any idea that the child is anything but their full brother or sister. Does this man have any rights to this child if my wife and I deny him involvement? My wife and I were living in the same house the whole time this affair occurred.
Can a judge force my wife to change her child's last name?
My wife and I have been separated for quite some time now and are finally going through with the divorce. We have two minor children. My wife recently gave birth to a child whom she admits is not mine. However she is not disclosing the name of the father and so that the new child has my last name. This child is not mine and I do not wish to be responsible for it. My wife has said she is not going to change her last name to her maiden name and is refusing to say who the real father is. Is there any way a judge can make her change her name if she doesn't want to disclose who the biological father is so that I will not have to deal with taking care of a child everyone knows is not mine?
