How can I change a child's last name and remove my name from the birth certificate?
I found out that the child that I had custody for 5 years, who shares my last name, is not my daughter, by court ordered DNA. The mother became a prostitute and I had legal custody of the child. She was ordered to pay $100 a month in child support and then decided to tell the truth that the child was not mine. I have the court papers stating she isn't my daughter. The mother refuses to take my name off the birth certificate or change the child's last name, who now resides with her. How do I go about changing her last name back to her mother's and taking my name off the birth certificate. We did not live together and we were not married.

What rights does my son have regarding his baby after a breakup?
My son and his girlfriend have an 8 month old baby. They lived with me since the baby has been about 3 weeks old. I was providing for all of them. They have split up and the mom and the baby left. Since they have left we have had the baby alot. The mother has been working. The mother has a history of drug use, and she cannot keep a job because she gets fired for stealing. Now the mother is threating my son which he has no rights, and he doesnt want to go to court. She has lied so much that, she is a compulsive lier. She has my grandaughter. She has a one bedroom apartment with no baby bed. The baby sleeps in a playpen. Her mother is a wacko on tons of pain killers, I'm afraid my granddaughter is in a very unstable enviornment. What can my son do or myself? What are his rights?
