Personal Injury
Can I sue for damage to my vehicle and inconvenience caused?
I had been to a supermarket close to my residence. I had parked my vehicle out in the parking lot of the supermarket. While shopping, I heard glass shatter accompanied with a loud thump. Everyone in the mart ran out to the parking lot. A customer who was backing out of the parking lot had rammed into one of the lamp posts and toppled it. The lamp post landed on the roof of my vehicle and shattered the rear windshield. My car is the only mode of commuting to and fro from work. Since the vehicle is at the workshop for repairs, I am compelled to commute using public transport for over forty miles a day. The commute is tedious and a huge personal inconvenience. Can I sue the person who caused the damages and for the inconvenience that has been caused?
Can I sue the pulley operator for negligence after my injury at work?
I am a construction worker and have been working for a construction company for the past 8 years. Last month while working on the site, the pulley operator fell asleep and lost control of the machine that caused the mental beam it was carrying to strike me square in the chest. I was in the hospital for about three weeks with multiple fractures and broken bones. Doctors have recommended rest for a minimum of 4 months. Can I sue the pulley operator for his negligence?
Can the other driver sue us for injuries after refusing treatment?
My wife and two children were in a serious car accident on May 6th of this year. They were seriously injured but from what the cop told me the driver of the other vehicle had minor cuts and bruises. He refused medical treatment at the scene. Now three months later a risk management company sent me a letter saying he was injured at the accident. We did not have car insurance at the time and my wife was at fault. Can he sue us even though he refused medical treatment at the scene?
What should I do after a car accident with injuries and no insurance?
I was in a car accident that was the fault of the other driver and he admitted it. Problem is that my daughter who is 18 but lives with her Dad, which has had custody of her, was with me and we were both taken to the hospital by ambulance. She bumped her head and my wrist was sore from holding on to the steering wheel at impact. Both air bags deployed. Car was totaled. I was not xrayed and told I would be a little sore. It has been 2 weeks and I still have trouble with my wrist & arm. I have no insurance and was told that my insurance will cover $1,000.00 for my injuries. My daughter gave the hospital her insurance card through her Dads insurance. I have received no bill from anyone on medical expenses and know that at some point his insurance company will want to go after someone. I need to get my arm looked at but am afraid that I am already going to exceed my $1000.00 limit since there was an ambulance involved. My Insurance said they are not big fans on lawyer-ing up but I wonder how complicated this could get since there is mine and my daughters insurance co. involved, not to mention that she is still complaining of headaches but they have not been able to determine why. This tells me that there has been some doctor visits also. What should be my plan here to safeguard myself from all of this. Any recommendations?
How can I create a liability release form for self defense training?
I am a traveling self defense life skills Master Instructor. I just started to travel and train young and older adults on the art of street self defense. The sessions also include some physical cardio activity which is part of the overall routine and or lession as well as hands on demonstration of self defense techniques. Part of this training is knowledge and that comes from a presentation. I am looking for a liability release form that will protect me or an associate instructor that travels with me at times.
