My stepfather died leaving one child of his and me. He did not leave a Will but has raised me from birth. My mother died 5 years earlier. I consider myself a child of my stepfather. Am I a child under Florida law?

My Sister is living with my Mother in Florida. I live in Texas. My Mother is near death and my Sister will not tell me whether she has made a Will or not. She also does not let me know anything that is going on. Is there anything I can do to find out about a Will or if not when the Estate is open?
