What should I do if my employer claims I quit after harassment?
I was terminated from my job of 5 years and at mediation the company said I quit my job. That was not so. I had a witness who signed the paper that I signed that said that I was terminated. I was under a lot of stress because of harassment by owner's daughter.
Can a company terminate me after I accept a job offer if I have a felony?
I recently received a job offer. Prior to receiving the offer, the company requested my date of birth and social security number for the purpose of conducting a background check. I have a domestic battery felony on my record, but I have not filled out an employment application and therefore did not have the opportunity to list the felony on an application. If my offer is not contingent on the background check, and I accept the offer and start working, can the company terminate me after I accept this offer if they decide to run a check after my employment started?
