What Are My Due Process Rights in Employent Discipline?
I am a RN. Employed by AZ. State. Charges were brought against me at work for misconduct and neglect of duty. I was denied to use patient records to defend myself as my employer stated HIPPA regulations. However, these client records and reports were used against me. I was placed on investigation for 6 months and suspended from work for one day. They have not honored the timelines (and my supervisor changed dates) for their grievance policy. If these charges stick I will have to report this to the State Board of Nursing. This will result in a mark against my license that has been in good standing for 28 years. Is this a violation of due process?

Can My Per Diem Pay Be Pro-rated?
Can my temporary agency employer pro-rate my per diem pay even though I was at my assignment all 7 days of the week but only worked 36 hours? Normally I get $210.00 per week, but I was given only $189.00 because I was given 4 hours off on my fifth day of work. Is this legal? My employer is in Pennsylvania; I live in Florida and currently working in Yakima, Washington.
How Do I Get Pro Bono Legal Help in Virginia?
On 4/12/2009 I was Removed from government service after 20+ years. I filed an MSPB appeal. A settlement was offered, I didn't have a lawyer, so one of the settlements offer was to change the Removal on my SF-50 to a Resignation, that was done. Next, I received a 'tentative' offer for a job within the Department of Army. After receiving the 'tentative' offer, I was offered a 'confirmation' to confirm that I wanted the job, I confirmed the job by email. Next, I received an email and letter from this agency saying the 'tentative' offer has been 'withdrawn' for derogatory information. The offer was a 'confirmation' not 'tentative'. I need a pro bono or someone who can guide me to the right persons, so we can win this case. I have filed two MSPB appeals, the first appeal was so-called settled, but this second one is not settled, this is why I am seeking assistance.
Can My Employer Threaten to Fire Me if I Do Work for Others?
I am a graphic designer. I work for a sign company. My boss said he would fire me if I do any design for profit outside of work. We use different software and hardware. I would not advertise or take clients. I offered to refer my design clients to the sign shop for print needs. Can he legally fire me and deny me unemployment for this if I have signed nothing and was never informed of any such company policy upon being hired?
