How Do I Expedite a Divorce in Connecticut?
I got married shortly after my first wife of 27 years died; I was grief stricken and vulnerable. I and this second wife never lived together, never shared assets (although I paid her bills often) and we have no children. I filed for divorce over a year ago and have not seen or spoken to her for longer. My attorney keeps charging me fees and my spouse has responded through a lawyer that she refuses to divorce unless her demands are met, yet she also refuses to state her demands and keeps cancelling scheduled meetings. This would be her third divorce in the state of Connecticut, where we were married and still reside in separate towns. I want this to be resolved; she seems to want to drag it out forever. My attorney isn't doing anything, yet I am still paying him. Is there anything I can do?

This question is about an employment EEO case in federal court where the orginal pleadings were about discrimination and retaliation. Question Part 1: Do ongoing and later retaliations in a nexus with the case need to be filed with a leave to amend for amended pleadings or are they automatically integrated into the lawsuit? Question: Part 2: Will a response to a motion for summary judgment be sufficient and considered as amended pleadings? See: Ganther v Ingle where a response to MSJ is considered as amended pleadings in the U.S. 5th circuit. In Texas, the law is such that judges always allow a cure for any defect of pleadings, before during, or after trial. However, my question involve federal court. The attorney does not believe that amended pleadings are necessary, since a retaliation claim does not have to be administratively exhausted as a new claim, since it is in nexus with the orginal pleadings or integrated into the law suit.

Can I Sue a Lawyer for Payments Made on Behalf of My Daughter's Case?
There is a $7,000 credit due to me in my daughter's account with a divorce lawyer. The divorce is case is closed and the attorney refuses to refund the credit. There was no financial agreement signed by neither my daughter nor myself. I paid for all of my daughter's expenses directly to the attorney and he in turn sent me the invoices and requests for retainers. I do not want to involve my daughter while attempting to get a refund, so I content that I can sue the attorney myself because I have a 'third-party standing' position. Please give me your opinion. Thank you.
