Should we pay a penalty for releasing exclusive hotel rooms?
My company is a travel agency, which has many exclusive rooms of hotels. Due to the bad economic situation, we want to release the exclusive rooms to the hotels. But we may have to pay a penalty. Should we pay the penalty or is it possible to reduce the penalty?
Do I have to pay for incomplete work by a consultant?
I hired a computer consultant who did not complete the work in a timely fashion and what was done was not usable. I had to hire a different company to complete the work. The first consultant demanded a check for work completed at 10:30 pm when we asked him to leave our office. The office manager went in at 4 am to use the programs only to find nothing was accessible. At this point we put a stop payment on the check. Within a week a collection agency was calling and shortly 'cross check' was calling us to get payment. Do I have to pay for the work that was not done plus pay the same check again for the 'crosscheck' service? This has me so upset I may just close the company! I live in Georgia but the company is in Cape Coral, Florida.

Why do I need to sign to sell my husband's house if I have a prenup?
I have a prenuptial agreement with my husband which is almost 10 years old. We live in his house; and I am not on the deed. He has taken a new job, and his company is buying the house. A Century 21 real estate agent delivered the 'contract agreements' to our home and wants my signature in order to sell the house. Why do I have to sign anything IF I have a prenupt and am not on the current deed? What are my rights living in the house?
What should I do about a disputed bill after a verbal agreement?
What is it called when an entity trys to bill for an amount that is false? I know fraud is the simple answer. But is there another term when there is a business involved specifically when a verbal agreement was previously made. I have a company billing me for work after the fact for removal of rock and soil. The verbal agreement was that we would give them the extra site spoils for free if they provided their own dumptruck to haul away. Now they are trying to bill us 5 months later for $10,200. We do not have a written agreement. Please advise me if I should file a fraud suit now or try to resolove this with a letter only?
