Can I Keep a Person's Property if They Owe Me Money?
I was hired to move stuff from a house friends were letting go into foreclosure, before mortgage company took possession of the property. I moved an antique piano (at my own expense $230, but I did not have their permission before hand) to my house for safe keeping. I moved their other possessions to their other home and told them they owed me $350 for that alone. They refused to pay the piano moving expense, stating they didn't tell me to do that (move the piano). Then, they did not pay me the other $350 they owed me for services rendered. So, I thought they were just giving me the piano in lieu of what they owed me $350. I was just out the moving expense. The bank has been cleaning out the house for a week now. Now, they have called wanting the piano back, not offering to pay the $350 or $230 moving expense and have threatened to have me arrested for theft. Is this possible, or do I have any rights here? Nothing was in writing, only agreed between friends. Please help.
Am I Liable for the Difference if the Seller Sold Me Something for the Wrong Price?
I bought a clown fish for $50 from a pet store. This particular clown fish did not have a price assigned to. I asked to buy it assuming it was $20 like the others in a separate tank. The price came up to be $50 and I paid it because it did have a unique design to it. About five hours later, the pet store calls and tells me that I bought a designer clown fish and that the price is really $150. I refuse to authorize another payment and they demanded to fish back. Do I legally have to return it if I already paid for it? I already paid more than the posted price for other clown fish. If I return it because of their mistake, do I have to only accept their store credit if that's their policy?

How Do I Sue a Property Manager in Another State for Rent Proceeds Withheld?
What legal action can we take against a property manager who has failed to turn over rental income? We own a condo in Maui which is a vacation rental. Our property manager has basically been spending the rental money he takes in. He owes us over $11,000 as we have not received any money from him since March. We have gotten all kinds of excuses as to why he can't pay us. Now he has resigned and will not return e-mails or phone calls. He lives in Maui and we live in Ca. What are our legal options in this case? Thanks in advance for your reply.
How Do I Know if a Contract is Binding or Not?
Hello, Recently an agent from a construction company showed up at our door and told me that due to the recent hail damage in our area we might be eligible to change our roof and siding and home insurance would pay for it. He had me sign a paper that would allow him to represent me to contact my insurance company. I asked him if what I am signing was a binding contract. He said no this is just so we can talk to your insurance company. Later I heard that their company does not do a quality job. Also he was pushy and kept calling me to see if I have contacted my insurance company. When I told him that I may decide to have the work done through another company, he said that what I signed is a binding contract and I need to have the repair done with them. I have scanned the 2-page contract that I signed and can send it to you. I should not have signed that paper but all he did was to look around our house for damage for about 10 minutes. I am just wondering if what I signed is binding and if I can have another company to do the work.
