Can I Recover More Than a Contractor's Insurance Covers for a Defective Valve That Was Installed?
During the remodeling of my house, the contractor installed a faulty shut-off valve on the hot water system. The valve broke 2 weeks after being installed, causing the flooding of the basement, damaging the heating and air conditioning system as well as my collection of books that was being stored in the basement during the remodeling. The cost of repair and replacement is estimated to $16 000. The contractor's insurance is willing to cover only $9000. Is the contractor liable for the remaining $7000?thank you for your help.
Does a Used Car Dealer Need to Disclose a Prior Collision With the Vehicle in Washington?
I have purchased a vehicle and came to find two months later that the vehicle had a previous rear end collision. When I viewed the CarFax report at the dealership, prior to purchase, their CarFax report indicated no damage. When I purchased my own CarFax report two months later, it indicated a rear end collision occured. Doesn't the dealership have a legal obligation to disclose an accident or collision of a vehicle to a potential buyer prior to purchase? Thank you for your time.

Can I Get the Company to Fix the Item or Pay Damages After the Warranty Has Expired?
We had a $1,000 part installed by Company A one year ago. The same company was out to check the system 6 months later and added 4 lbs of refrigerant and said there was probably a leak. We called Company B to look at our system yesterday and look for a leak. Company A had appeared to be very incompetent over the last year. Company B said the part was installed incorrectly and was the cause of the leak and it needs repairs. The warranty ended 1 day before this (this was a coincidence that we called the second company 1 day late). We have photos of the shoddy work. My question is, does Company A have any obligation to fix this and even re-imburse us the refrigerant purchased 6 months ago even though the warranty has expired?
