Do unpaid medical bills affect the estate in Arizona?
Does unpaid Medical bills count against the estate- even though they will be paid later by Medicare and/or BlueShield? Please answer the question according to AZ law. My mother died and has very large unpaid medical bills but we need to know if those amounts will be subtracted from her estate total. We would like to qualify for 'small estate' status in AZ - What is the maximum amount the estate can hold?
Why does the law firm want me to open a small estate for my husband?
Before my husband passed away, we had signed a contract with a large law firm in Maryland and have a medical malpractice suit ongoing at the present time. My husband just passed away the 15th of February and the law firm wants me to open a small estate in my husbands' name. What is this for and is it for my benefit or the law firms benefit, and is it safe to open a small estate?
How do we file for our brother's possessions without a will?
Recently my brother died having no will. My sister and I as his only next of kin. Our parents both predeceased him. He never married nor had any children. How do we file for his possessions under the OCR Title 21 for Intestate Decedent? He had only personal effects, a vehicle ($2500), and less than $20,000 in the bank. We are unable to find any appropriate forms.
