I am in Afghanistan working on a US military base as a Civilian contractor. I would like to implement a cross training program for two related fields that work in the same location. My question is, 'Can I legally make the cross-training required?'
What State Form Should A Military Member Use?
I am retired and live in Texas. My Son is in the military. He currently is in school in California. His Home of Record is Florida since that is where he joined the military. But he has no address in Florida. He owns a home in Virginia but doesnt file homestead since his Home of Record for the military is Florida. They have a 4 month old baby and we want to do the legal documents for them. They need a Will, Power of Attorney, Living Will, and guardianship and whatever other documents. They want the Property to go from husband to wife and wife to husband, and then son. They want the child to go to husband/wife then me (grandma) and then all the estate and money in estate to end up with me (grandma) to care for child if the parents die and child is still a minor. What STATE forms do they use? and list of all the forms they need to accomplish this? Transfer from husband to wife to grandma if child is still minor?
How can we rescind consent for a 17 year old high school recruit in the Marines?
My nephew, who is 17 years old and still in high school, was approached by a marine recruiter. The recruiter was able to get him to sign and agreement to enlist by telling him he would be able to get him a job that would insure him that he would not have to go to a war zone. His parents were told the same thing and told to sign a waiver. Many other lies were told to them by the recruiter. Two to three months have passed and the recruiter is backing down on everything. My nephew wants out. The recruiter is telling him and his parents NO. My friend has told us the same thing happened to them and his son, but they were able to get him release by filing some type of forms. The marine recruiter will not help. Is there legal grounds? Remember, he is 17 and still in high school.
Incorrect Military ID Cards Issued causing Insurance Problems
My son retired from the Naval Reserve. Upon retirement the issuing authority for military identification cards issued my son and his wife the incorrect ID cards even though my son informed them they were issuing them the incorrect ID cards. The issuing authority assured them that they were the correct cards. The ID cards issued them in March 2006 authorized them medical coverage under the Department of Defense TRICARE Program. The Department of the Navy realizing that the incorrect cards and in fact they were not authorized TRICARE services and that TRICARE would be notifying them that TRICARE will recoup the funds that they paid to their providers of medical care. TRICARE in fact notified them that they were in the process of recouping the funds from their providers. The problem is that the providers are demanding payment from them at the 100% charged for the service because they are being billed as having no insurance and not the contract price TRICARE reimbursed the providers. This 100% charge has caused my son to be obligated to pay, based on the statements received as of the date, to be at least $50,000.00. Can my son use the Detrimental Reliance reason when he appeals his case to the TRICARE Management Activity, the agency who will make the final decision. Additionally, if the appeal is made in my sons favor and TRICARE reimburses the providers at the contract rate can the providers then demand payment of the difference from my son? Further, if they do bill my son for the remainder, can my son then make the Navy pay the difference. The big problem is that my daughter-in-law was laid off from her job in November 2007 and has not been able to find work in her field which was an estimator for a home building company and in no way can they afford to pay the money back based on the salary of my son. This will and undo hardship on them and cause the providers to report the situation to the credit report agencies which will affect his credit rating causing another hardship on them.
