I have heard that it's possible to prevent a former spouse from taking the children of the marriage out of the state where the other parent resides. I live in Hawaii. My wife is divorcing me and has taken my children to Germany were she is stationed as part of the military. She has offered to let me see my children in the summer time, but will not allow me to see them any other time. I would like to make it where at least my kids will be in the same state as I if I can't get custody of them.

My husband has a twelve year-old daughter who lives with her grandmother. The daughter has recently asked her father to submit to a DNA test. He just went to court on December 13th for twenty three thousand dollars in back child support and is now facing a jail sentence. We would like to know if, after twelve years, he is determined not to be the father, will he still have to pay child support? He has a court appointed attorney who said if my husband submitted to a DNA test, he would research the laws for Tennessee regarding this issue. We are financially unable to pay for a DNA test if it is not going to help him in the first place. Could you please let me know the law for this situation?

When you go through a legal separation and both parties (or just one party) want to see if they are happier dating other people, is that possible without getting into legal trouble when there's a child involved?

I need something to tell me about state law in Idaho. If you are married in this state do you need to be divorced in this state, or if you move to a different state can you divorce in that state?
