Can I file suit against the city for an Animal Control incident?
I was approached in the Park by my house by Animal Control. I was walking my dogs at the time, and the Animal Control Officer asked me for ID. Before presenting my ID, I asked the Officer for his ID. He would not provide any and instead pointed to the emblem on his shirt which looked generic and I could not make it out as belonging to Animal Control. I have 2 Chihuahuas and I picked them up and returned to my house and the Animal Control Officer followed me. I wrote a letter to the Dept. Of Health & Human Services to report the incident, but have received no response. This was a pretty scary situation to me and I would have liked the Dept. of Health & Human Services to take corrective action. However, since they have not responded, I would like to file suit against the city so that someone will take this situation seriously. How would I best go about doing this?
Do I have a slander case for being called crazy at work?
I walked upon a fellow worker telling other employees some I know and some I did not know that I was crazy and she looked around into my face. Do I have a slander case? I am in a profession where I am responsible for sick people. I was surprised she would say such a thing.
What is the process to file a complaint for IIED after the deadline?
Need to know what form to file a complaint under emotional injury, IIED, Intentional infliction of emotional distress. The general time limit to file is one year, but I have missed that time limit. Do I need to file first an application for permission to file, and await the court's decision on the application, or do I attach the permission to file along with the complaint?
Am I entitled to see a written accusation against me?
If somebody accuses me of something (unethical behavior) and puts that in writing, should I not be entitled to see that accusatory piece of writing before having to respond to it? isn't it my right to total disclosure of information in as far as my very own person is concerned? This is NOT about anything that breaks the law, and it happened in the environment of the church to which I belong. Somebody (who is not a friend) wrote a defamatory letter to the head of the church implying that my conduct in the church is ethically objectionable. The head of the church has told me this much, and has offered me the opportunity of responding to that, but he will not let me see the accusatory memo. Should I not be entitled to it, so I could respond in a more specific manner to the specific allegations against me? Isn't there something in the US Bill of Rights that supports this? if so, what? Please let me know if more specifics are needed so my question CAN BE answered. I do not need a maze of legal nuances, nor a 'yes and no' scenario. Thanks.
