Bailment
What remedies are available for return of artwork left in care of another?
An individual has a life estate which I had left to my ex and left some property for his safe keeping because I had no where to keep them, in particular painting I had painted myself. When I requested the painting back he said he didn't have them and did not know where they were. He re-married and left to his wife a life estate. I asked his daughter to see if she could find the paintings and she did find 5, but the wife will not give them to me. What rights do I have?
Bailee wants bailor to execute release of all claims before returning property.
I allowed a person to store things on my property. She wants to remove them. I need a letter that once she remove her things from my property, I will not be liable for anything she stored on my property. She asked to store two boxes and the two boxes turned into a larger amount of household items. She took advantage of me during this period knowing full well that I was going into the hospital for surgery. Before my surgery, during my surgery, and my time of healing, this person has made my life a living hell. I was letting her store her things until she could move to another place. Her things were stored in an open dog kennel on my property. I purchased a tarp to cover her things. I just want a letter releasing me of any responsibility of her things once she leaves my property 10:00 am August 27, 2009. I purchased form for 'Lease of Storage Space for Household Goods' already, and want a form that determines absolute removal of all items. Person is not to return or hold me responsible for forgotten items. I did not remove any items from storage, except a kite for her baby to fly in the park. I was her child's care giver for over a year.
What Can I Do If the Pawn Shop Used the Item I Pawned?

Suing School for Losing Property After Confiscating Item Not Allowed at School
My son brought his ipod touch to school. It was confiscated by the Assistant Principal. The Assistant Principal sent me an email telling me that she placed the ipod in the school safe, and that my son could pick it up on the last day of school. On the last day of school he went to pick it up. It was gone! The school said, oh well, it is not their responsibility, and he should have never brought it to school in the first place. I spoke to the Asst. Principal, the Principal, and the Superintendent. No one cares. Can I take this to small claims court?
