Full question:
My Truck was being used by a friend, the insurance wasn't paid and was voided, he was involved in an accident, and now the young man that he hit is saying that there is more damage to the truck than there actually is. I cannot afford an attorney, but I don't want to pay an outrageous amount of money for something that I wasn't involved in. It is only cosmetic damage to the truck. What is the law in this type of situation?

Answer:
In general, the person responsible for an auto accident must pay for the damages. You can try to negotiate a settlement with the other driver or let the case proceed legally. If you dispute the damage amount, consider obtaining an independent repair estimate to support your position. This content is for informational purposes only and is not legal advice.
