Could a form be drafted to meet my needs?

Full question:

I have a dispute with a previous tenant in regards to security deposit deductions for the repair & cleaning fee. Could you provide legal settlement document if both parties agree to settle the issue. As a landlord, I don't want the tenant to come back and sue me for any amount after the settlement is signed. Please make sure that there are clauses to protect landlord for further argument, claim, or law suit.

FAQs

In New York, landlords can collect a security deposit of up to one month's rent. The deposit must be held in a separate, interest-bearing account, and tenants are entitled to the interest accrued. Upon termination of the lease, landlords must return the deposit within 14 days, minus any lawful deductions for damages or unpaid rent. If deductions are made, landlords must provide an itemized statement of the charges. Failure to comply can lead to legal disputes and potential penalties. *Legal statutes mentioned reflect the law at the time the content was written and may no longer be current.
