How can my husband get on a work release program?

My husband is serving a 5 yr sentence. so far he's been in for 30 months this is a drug charge which is not a violent crime. His first crime 11 yrs ago was a violent crime he should be up for work release the beginning of the new year he finish all his requirements that was expected for him to complete so what are his chances of getting in the work release program?
