Can A Person have Two Health Care Powers of Attorney?
Can a person have 2 durable power of atty for health? If so, is, or will one, be able to supersede the other one's interpretation of the final wishes in determining the course of medical treatment. Or could one carry the weight of the final medical wishes to trump the other's status? I'm confused. There must be more than one way to handle this eroding family issue, without placing the burden back on the ill parent. Any ideas on how to peacefully settle this inter-family dilemma?
Should I Have Two Powers of Attorney if the Agent Lives in Another State?
I am trying to support my parents and their needs for the correct legal documents. They are legally Florida residents but essentially live in Connecticut half the year. Two questions: 1.) Would durable power of attorney in Florida require me (live in CT) to be present to make any decisions on my parents behalf? 2.) Living in two locations, would it require separate POA's for both states, if they were to become ill when in CT?
