Can I share a company's unlisted phone number without permission?
I was the sole consultant for an out-of-state company and now they no longer need my services but do not have a contact person in this area, and there are several ongoing projects that I was involved in and I am being asked for contact information of this company. They have an unlisted phone number. If I give out this number without the company's permission, are there
for me?
Is the original offer legally binding after my acceptance?
My sister and I own a house together. I want to sell; she doesn't. I filed a petition to partition property. Her lawyer called me for a meeting where he made me an offer that I accepted. He said he would draw up the papers. The next thing I heard was from another attorney making me an offer half of the original offer, with the new attorney denying I was made the original offer. I had a witness at the meeting where the original offer was made and accepted. The question is: was the original offer legally binding once I accepted it?
Can I sue my ex-wife and son for financial damages?
I believe my ex-wife, following our divorce, conspired and encouraged my son, who worked with me for ten years, to leave the company and take two of my principals. Can I sue for financial damages?
Can I recover costs from my mechanic for improper timing belt installation?
I live in VA and had a local mechanic replace the timing belt on my Forester. It was installed improperly and damaged the engine. He kept the car for a month before finally fixing it. By the way, I never authorized him to fix my car after the belt tore up, just to tow it to his shop and diagnose the problem. I had to pay hundreds of dollars in car rental (which was necessary for my job) and then hundreds more to fix the mess he left me with. He installed some components incorrectly, causing a very bad oil leak, as well as the new timing belt! It cost hundreds of dollars to have the Suburu dealer fix his mess. What are the chances I can recoup any or all of that money?
Is it legal for a seller to claim abandonment of a mobile home?
My boyfriend is purchasing a mobile home for contract for deed and is a couple months behind on his payments. The man he is buying it from went into the trailer and changed the locks and put no trespassing signs on the door. That same day in the mailbox was a letter from the sellers attorney stating that the trailer has been abandoned, even though the lot rent that the trailer sits on has been paid by my boyfriend and the electricity is in his name. He does not have the money for an attorney and the seller knows this, IS THIS LEGAL? I have read and reread his purchase agreement and it does not say anything about what will happen if his payments are late, it also doesn't say in his agreement that late fees will be applied if he is late in paying, so can the seller automatically charge him late fees if it doesn't say so in the purchase agreement?
