If I'm living with someone and one is on social security and the other party is working, and we decide on going in on a deed of a home. How does one split half and half if one doesn't make as much as the other! If one party takes care of the house and all...and couldn't afford to split all the bills...but rent and gas and ect. My question is, should they not be allowed on the deed due to this. Should they just get a least because they can not afford to pay half of all the bills.

FAQs

If you are not married, your entitlement to equity depends on your contributions to the property and any agreements made with the other party. If you both contributed to the purchase or maintenance of the home, you may have a claim to a share of the equity. However, without a formal agreement, it can be complicated to determine ownership rights. Consulting with a legal professional can help clarify your situation.
