I adopted my daughters 6 yrs ago. They are now 11 and 12. I want them back home now though and they as well want to come home. Can i get a lawyer and reverse my adoption after so long.

An adoption could be reversed or vacated by agreement of the adopting parents, birth parents and the child. Usually a Petition to Vacate the Adoption would be filed by the adopting parents. If the adopting parents do not agree to the reversal it would be difficult to undo the adoption. Once an adoption is approved it is difficult to have it set aside.Another name for used is annulment of adoption. There are grounds that even the biological parents alone may be successful in setting aside an adoption. Those grounds may vary by State but some grounds are rather common in all States such as errors or misrepresentations made in the original adoption.
