What is needed to add my three daughter's name to my deed?

Full question:

Need to know which form we need to use in putting 3 daughters on a mortgage deed. The house was paid off years ago. Dad recently passed away, but Mom's name is on the deed, which it needs to stay on it, but she wants to add our names to it also. I've been looking at these forms on line and am confused. I contacted the Reg. of Deeds here, but they can't give advice.

FAQs

Generally, you cannot change a deed after the owner has passed away. The property typically goes through probate, where the deceased's assets are distributed according to their will or state law. If the deceased had a will that specified how the property should be handled, that will guide the process. If there was no will, state intestacy laws will apply. It's advisable to consult an attorney for guidance on how to proceed.
