BTW i have been a teacher for the past 7 years and am tired of having to answer the question... is there a way to have that arrest record in Alabama expunged?

Answer:
If you were investigated for child abuse but were not convicted, Alabama law requires that the agency holding the investigation records expunge all related information. This includes any records or data developed from the investigation (Ala. Code § 26-14-3(e)).
However, two important records typically remain accessible to the public: (1) the original arrest record, which may contain notes, reports, and evidence from the arrest, and (2) the court's record of the action.
To explore your options for expungement, I recommend contacting the clerk of court in your area, as procedures can vary by court.
