Do I have the right to be present for a move out inspection?
I have requested to be present for a move out inspection the property manager said "I must leave the key on the 31st call the office that day and the maintance person will go into the unit some time the week of the 1st, take pictures and assess any damages, then return any monies owed to me". Do I have the legal right to be present at that time? I was present for the move in inspection.
Can a landlord evict me in 15 days over false criminal accusations?
Can a landlord make me move in 15 days because of criminal activity that never took place. They said I was drug trafficing but I didnt it was the neighbors and I'm being accused.
Can my landlord make me leave without compensation for moving costs?
I rent a house in LA. My lease is about to end on may 1, and last night i got a letter (registered mail) stating that my lease will not be renewed because the owner of the house intends to move in. my lease states that 30 days written notice which they gave. someone told me that the landlord has to pay some amount to cover moving costs if they are making you leave. is that true? are there any rights that i have to extend my stay for being a good tenant who pays rent on time? when i moved in they said that the owner wanted someone who was not going to leave in a year, now they are kicking me out at exactly one year. had i known this, i would have never signed the lease for this house.
Is the new owner responsible for my security deposit after the sale?
I moved out of my apartment building and I left it spotless when I left. I did not owe any rent. A year or so before I moved out of the building it was sold. It had approximately 15 apartments. I asked for my security deposit back and the new owner said that when he bought the building the owner never gave him the security deposits for the building and that I have to get my security deposit from him, who has since moved to Arizona. Doesn't this new owner assume all the obligations of the building when he bought it? Does he (the new owner) have to pay me? To me it seems funny if they both had attorneys when the place was sold that the security deposit money wasn't transferred. One more thing, if I go to court, is there any law or something I could reference to show the judge?
Can I apply my security deposit to April's rent in Arizona?
I reside in Sedona Arizona. I am not going to renew my lease which terminates May 1, 2007.
Can I use my $500 security deposit that I gave to my landlord in May of 2006 and apply it to my April's rent? Does this Arizona statue appy to me? A.R.S. 33-1321
