Do we need attorneys to review our prenup before filing it?

Full question:

Do each of us have to have an attorney to look over this prenup if we order it and fill it out, or do we just take it to the court ourselves. If we have your company fill it out does that avoid having to have an attorney look at it. I see on the sample a place for two attorneys to sign. Also If there something in it that addresses if one becomes disable.

Answer:

It is advisable to consult with an attorney before signing the prenup. The agreement includes a provision stating that each party will cover their own health care, convalescence, and funeral expenses from their separate estate, ensuring that neither party becomes a financial burden on the other. Additional terms regarding disability can be included as well.

Yes, a couple can write their own prenuptial agreement. However, it is highly recommended to have an attorney review it to ensure that it complies with state laws and adequately protects both parties' interests. An attorney can also help clarify any legal terms and address specific concerns.
