In Kentucky, the husband is not liable for any debt or responsibility of his wife for any contracts or debts incurred before or after marriage except for the amount or the value of the property he received from or by virtue of his wife of the marriage. However, he shall be liable for the necessaries furnished to her after marriage per KRS §404.040.It reads:
“The husband shall not be liable for any debt or responsibility of the wife contracted or incurred before or after marriage, except to the amount or value of the property he received from or by her by virtue of the marriage; but he shall be liable for necessaries furnished to her after marriage.”
