Answer:
Tuition is often defined as the total semester, quarter, or classroom hour cost of instruction for the institution excluding fees, book charges, and room and board. Tuition is also sometimes defined as the actual tuition costs and fees as well as costs associated with the purchase of school uniforms for general day-to-day use, the purchase of textbooks, supplies and other instructional materials required by schools. Living expenses are usually a separate item from tuition under common usage, however, some schools include room and board in the calculation of tuition, as when students are required to live on campus and pay for food and boarding as part of the tuition. The California state statutes do not contain a definition of tuition, so it may be necessary to petition the court for clarification if tuition isn't defined in the court order.
