What is the statute of limitations for collecting under a contract in Pennsylvania?

Full question:

I own a cleaning service franchise called Merry Maids. On 10/6/06 customer agreed to biweekly service on his home. He did not pay for 3rd & 4th cleaning. We cancelled their service for non payment. Made several phone calls, emails and letter. No response. Sent file to collection agency. No collection made. The date payment was not made was 12/4/06. Can I file a civil suit/small claims court? Is it too late? Thank you.

Answer:

An agreement, oral or written, to provide cleaning services at a certain price may be enforced under contract law. In Pennsylvania, the time frame in which you must file a lawsuit to collect under that contract (an action for breach of contract) is 4 years from the date of the contract.
