What Charge Can Apply to Kissing a Minor in Texas?

Full question:

I recently got interviewed by detectives regarding a girl i met on Myspace. She said she was 18 and she ended up being 13. I met her at the house and we hugged and I kissed her in the neck. She claims I kissed her in the lips which is not true. They got a statement from her. What could I be charged with? Is it likely ill be charged? They want me to come in to the station for a polygraph test and to make a statement. Should I come in without a lawyer? or should I even come in at all? I haven't been charged with anything.

Answer:

There are various charges that might be applicable, depending on what the girl claims, such as contributing to the delinquency of a minor, reckless endangerment, sexual offenses, and others. If you are labelled a sexual offender, there are serious consequences. I am unable to prediuct the likelihood of charges, it will depend on al lthe circumstances involved. I suggest contacting a local criminal attorney who can review all the facts and documents involved before appearing.
